POWER: Skyborn Secures Permit for 976.5MW German Offshore Wind Farm

Skyborn Renewables has secured state planning approval for its 976.5MW Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, with an FID expected in 2026, the firm said.

  • Construction is expected to last around two years, with commissioning targeted for 2028.
  • Once operational, Gennaker will generate around 4 TWh annually.
  • The approved plan allows for 63 – 15MW – turbines, increasing maximum capacity 976.5MW from 927 MW without expanding the project footprint, Skyborn noted.

CROSS ASSET: Bonds Draw Support From Downtick In Crude

Weakness in crude oil futures has supported bonds over the last couple of hours or so, although pre-existing week-to-date highs in TY, Bund & gilt futures remain untouched.

  • Our commodities team notes that oil has softened as the market digests signs of renewed efforts by the U.S. to strike a Ukraine peace deal, although caution that given failed previous attempts, a deal still seems a long way off.
