LNG: No Immediate Supply Issues with Russia’s Sakhalin-2 LNG: Tokyo Gas

Tokyo Gas CEO said there is no immediate supply issues with Russia’s Sakhalin-2 LNG but will consult with the Japanese government regarding the future purchases of the fuel.
- The company has a long-term contract with the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas project until 2031 which is viewed as important for the stability of Japan’s energy supply.
- Among overseas operations, Tokyo Gas will prioritize expanding business in the US which shows strong growth potential.
- A decision on offtake from the Alaska LNG project will ultimately depend on whether the terms and economics are favourable. The consideration of Alaska LNG offtake is not directly related to the Sakhalin-2 LNG contract.
