Italy’s PSV day-ahead natural gas contract rose sharply on 16 September, after maintenance began on the Trans-Med pipeline. Platts assessed the contract at €35.20/MWh, up 4.92% day on day – the strongest increase among European hubs.
- The premium to the Dutch TTF widened to €3.37/MWh, the highest in nearly a week. Flows from Tunisia through Cap Bon are restricted to 68 mcm/d until Oct. 1, down from 103 mcm/d.
- Imports at Mazara del Vallo fell to 19.6 mcm on Sep. 17, 51.5% lower than the day before.
- Italian demand is forecast at 146.09 million cu m, slightly down on the previous day. Weather forecasts show temperatures trending above seasonal norms.
- Earlier, PSV premiums weakened as Passo Gries flows increased following maintenance. By mid-September, Italian gas storage reached 183 TWh (90.4% full), compared with the EU average of 80.83%.
