CANADA DATA: Canada Nov. Payroll -56.1K MOM Mostly Due to Postal Strike

Payroll employment in Nov. -56.1K MOM (-0.3%) after three straight months of little change, Statistics Canada says Thurs.
That varies from the Labour Force Survey published previously, with employment +50.5K in Nov. and +90.9K in Dec.
The drop in the month of Nov. was largely driven by a decline in transportation and warehousing -38.2K (-48.7%) due to postal services industry strike. Persons on strike are excluded in the payroll employment count for the month, StatsCan says.
Average weekly earnings +5% YOY in Nov. Payrolls +142.9K YOY (+0.8%).
BOC said Wed that labour market remains soft but wage pressures are showing signs of easing.
Total 6,000 SFRM5 1Y bundles (SFRM5-SFRH6) from 0857ET to 0903ET, 4,000 crossed +0.015, 2,000 +0.010. Most likely swap-tied selling with spds running wider in the short end.

Treasury futures holding mildly higher levels - little to no reaction to in-line FHFA housing price & slightly higher than expected S&P CoreLogic data.
Futures had already pared overnight gains since the top of the hour, the Mar'25 10Y contract currently trades 108-31.5 (+.5), curves off earlier lows: 2s10s +1.041 at 29.924, 5s30s -.316 at 38.559.
