new 3nm chip, neutral for credit
Xiaomi announced earlier today that its new in-house Xring O1 chip was now in mass production and will be incorporated in the Xiaomi 15S Pro smartphone amongst other products. The chip is 3 nanometre in size and a design achievement. Competitors, such as Apple, Samsung and Huawei have also designed their own 3nm chips. The benefits being a boost to performance and battery life versus larger chips. Currently 3nm is the smallest consumer chip in use, though it probably won't be long before we are at 2nm. The equity market likes the story, overall neutral for credit.
