LNG: US LNG Cargo Numbers Dip Awaiting First Plaquemines Loading

The number of US LNG export cargoes dipped to 25 in the week to Dec. 18 from 27 the week prior, according to the EIA. Total capacity of the vessels fell to 94bcf from 102bcf as the market awaits the first Plaquemines LNG cargo.

  • Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals increased 0.1bcf/d w/w to 14.3bcf/d, according to S&P Global Commodity Insights.
  • Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana increase 1.8% (0.1bcf/d) to 8.5bcf/d. However, deliveries to South Texas decreased by 1.1% (0.1bcf/d) to 4.5bcf/d.
  • US LNG export terminal feedgas supply is estimated at the highest since January at 14.59bcf/d today, BNEF shows, as pipeline deliveries on the Gator Express Pipeline serving Plaquemines LNG rise.
  • Plaquemines LNG feedgas is estimated at 0.39bcf/d as operations ramp up after Venture Global announced first LNG production on Dec. 14.
  • US LNG is showing a premium to Asia over Europe for February but with spreads closer to parity in March and Q2, according to BNEF. For Febrauary delivery, the netback to Asia is $9.74/mmbtu and to Europe is $9.54/mmbtu.
