A reversal higher in S&P E-Minis last week highlights the start of a corrective cycle. The trend condition has been oversold following recent weakness and the move higher is allowing this set-up to unwind. Initial resistance to watch is 5498.03, the 20-day EMA. Resistance at the 50-day EMA is at 5701.85. On the downside, key support and the bear trigger has been defined at 4832.00, the Apr 7 low. A break of this level would resume the M/T downtrend.

CROSS ASSET: Equities are fading lower

Apr-16 13:22
  • Bund remains unmoved, brushed aside the US Retail sales and now the slightly lower IP.
  • Equities futures are still fading, the Emini is still 18 points short of 5350.00, not a Tech level, but where it was trading at on the Earlier China headline, suggesting they would be prepared to work with the US.
  • This level for the Estoxx (VGM5) stands at 4838.14.
  • With the Data out of the way, and barring any new Tariffs headline, the main focus is squarely on Fed Powell a little later.
