- This follows a U.S. license recently granted to negotiate a join offshore project close to the maritime border.
- The authorisation, issues by the U.S. Treasury Department earlier this month following a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Trinidad’s PM, allows companies in Trinidad and Venezuela to negotiate the project through April 2026. It also mandates that U.S. companies must be included.
