CZECHIA: Spolu Leaders To Sign Agreement For Upcoming Election

- Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS), Chamber of Deputies Speaker Marketa Pekarova Adamova (TOP 09) and Agriculture Minister Marek Vyborny (KDU-CSL) are expected to sign an agreement to jointly contest the upcoming parliamentary election under the banner of their Spolu coalition. Fiala said that he was aiming to secure 30% of the vote, even as Spolu continues to lag behind the main opposition ANO party by a significant margin.
- Prime Minister Fiala told the Financial Times that there was a good chance that a similar amount of ammunition could be delivered to Ukraine through the existing Czech-led initiative as last year, when it exceeded 500,000 rounds. He also accused his political opponents from ANO of helping Vladimir Putin by demanding unconditional peace and pushing back against increased defence spending.
