The Russian government has not discussed a possible complete gasoline export ban, according to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

  • The Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service proposed a complete gasoline export ban to tackle high fuel prices, Reuters sources said on June 26.
  • Earlier this year Russia extended permission for producers of gasoline to export fuel until end of Aug, while at the same time extending the gasoline export ban for non-producers for the same period.
  • An extension of restrictions on non-producers until October is under consideration, Novak said.
  • Russia’s domestic market is fully supplied with motor fuel, according to the country’s Energy Ministry on June 4. Commercial stocks of motor gasoline at refineries and oil depots are 1.8m mt, up 2% than at the beginning of 2024.
