TASS reports that the meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, taking place on the sidelines of the ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting in Malaysia, has concluded after just under an hour. The meeting comes after US President Donald Trump has vocally expressed his frustration with Russia, and in particular President Vladimir Putin, over perceived foot-dragging in reaching a peace deal with Ukraine. After a period in the spring which the White House talked up Russia's efforts while criticising perceived Ukrainian intransigence, this stance has apparently flipped, with Putin drawing Trump's ire rather than Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. No set timings, but comments - whether pool or in a presser - from both Rubio and Lavrov are likely to come through shortly.
