• Argentina is seeking USD20bn from the IMF with an initial disbursement of over 40%, according to Bloomberg.
• The IMF program approved in March 2022 disbursed initially USD9.656bn out of USD44bn, or 22%.
• The market is especially sensitive to the initial disbursement as it will need to be sufficient to shore up the Central Bank, help pay off upcoming debt maturity and interest payments as well as be able to support ARS interventions as necessary.
• ARGENT 2035 bonds last quoted USD61.7, fell1 ½ points today, down in price from USD67 at 2024-year end after hitting a five year high of USD69.25 in early January 2025.
