SOUTH AFRICA: President Ramaphosa Set to Deliver First SONA of 2025 Shortly

- President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver his State of the Nation Address (SONA) at 17:00GMT/19:00SAST, setting out the government's priorities for the year ahead and taking stock of progress on previously set targets.
- This will be the first SONA since the formation of the coalition government last year when the ANC lost its parliamentary majority in the 2024 general elections. Some commentators note that this time around, foreign policy issues may get more attention in the light of recent developments on that front.
