DATA REACT: Philly Fed Highest Prices Paid Index Since 1979
Mar-17 12:47
The stronger than expected rise in the Philly Fed general business activity in March was helped by solid increases in new orders, shipments and employment.
"The indicators for prices paid and prices received continue to indicate widespread price increases and moved higher this month. The prices paid index climbed 12 points to 81.0, its highest reading since June 1979" along with a further increase in prices received.
No let up in 6-month ahead price measures either, both bouncing sharply back towards recent highs, which will continue to support inflation expectations at currently elevated levels.
