HUNGARY: Pharma Wholesalers Agree to "Voluntarily" Curb Some Drug Prices

Jun-12 15:24
  • National Economy Minister Marton Nagy posted on his Facebook page earlier today that an association of Hungarian pharma wholesalers have agreed to “voluntarily” curb their prices. The wholesalers agreed to cut prices on certain drugs to the end-December level as of July.
  • Note that the government has pushed for similar measures on banking and telecom fees and imposed profit curbs on food staples in a bid to slow inflation. Data yesterday showed both food and services inflation at +5.9% Y/Y in May.
