“Third attack against the North Peruvian Pipeline so far in 2025” – Petroperu
Neutral for bond prices
• The North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) is a 1,106km long pipeline transporting oil from the production fields in the Peruvian jungle to the Bayóvar terminal on Peru's Pacific Coast.
• In accordance with the Contingency Plan, containment barriers were installed in the Pijuayal creek and a bolted clamp on the cut executed by third parties, leaving the ONP operational again, according to the company.
• The incident has been notified to the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA), the Supervisory Agency for Investment in Energy and Mining (Osinergmin) and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Environmental Matters (FEMA).
• Petroperu complained of many attacks to the pipeline over the years but still they continue. In 2022 the company said there were 14 attacks with more than 50 intentional cuts.

USDJPY continues to trade below the Feb 12 high. Recent weakness highlights that - for now - a key resistance around the 50-day EMA, at 154.24, remains intact. A clear break of the EMA is required to confirm a stronger bullish reversal. This would open 155.89, the Feb 3 high. Key support and the bear trigger is unchanged at 150.93, the Feb 7 low. Clearance of this level would resume the bear cycle that started on Jan 10.
Overnight reverse repo facility takeup bounced sharply Tuesday, rising $19.0B (most since Jan 31) vs Friday to $77.8B.
