An environmental, social and economic audit of the mine is currently underway and must be completed before any talks can begin.
The Panama Minister of Commerce and Industry Julio Molto announced that a discussion with First Quantum and other previous operators of the mine might begin in three to four months.
PANAMA 35s were last quoted T+201bp, 52bp tighter since June 30th and 113bp tighter YTD. Recently spreads have tightened after improved fiscal results that led to optimism that the country may preserve its investment grade rating, especially at Moody's.
