POWER: NVE Premits First Battery at Existing Wind Site

NVE has granted approval to Måkaknuten Vind DA for the construction of a 11.2MW (22.4MWh) battery project at the 95MW Måkaknuten wind farm, it said.
- This marks the first permit for a battery site at an existing onshore wind plant in Norway.

FOREX: USDCAD Extends Losses Post BOC, Breaches Key 50-Day EMA

- USDCAD is extending losses in the aftermath of the BoC decision. As a reminder, Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem signaled he's about done lowering interest rates after moving for the second meeting in a row Wednesday, citing evidence inflation is settling around target.
- USDCAD is now testing the 1.3900 handle, having breached the key 50-day EMA which intersected at 1.3915. Earlier we highlighted that a clear break of this level would signal scope for a deeper retracement and potentially expose channel support at 1.3840. The bull channel is drawn from the Jul 23 low, and weakness below this point would alter the medium-term bullish theme.
