With the Election Commission confirming 8 February as the date for the next general election, attention will turn to the potential outcome of the vote. The latest opinion polling shows an unclear picture. The progressive People's Party (PPLE), the largest party in the House of Representatives, remains the most popular single party according to the latest NIDA survey from early December, with 25.3% support. However, this is well below the 38.0% the party achieved in the 2023 general election, and is the lowest that it has polled with NIDA since then. Since the middle of 2025, there has been a marked increase in the number of respondents stating that they are undecided, rising to 32.4% in December from just 7.7% in June.
