US NATGAS: NE Update: still colder than normal and demand hangs on

  • Total Demand into New England revised 0.07 bcf lower to 3.13 bcf, a relatively minor change given last week’s large daily revisions lower.
  • The latest GFS 15day forecast for Boston has total HDDs at 339.1 which is  a decrease of 2.97 HDDs compared to the previous run. And is 36 HDDs colder than the 10yr normal.
  • Bloomberg has end user demand 194 mcf/d higher on the day, comprised of 33% power demand, 55% residential and commercial demand, and 12% industrial demand.
  • Power demand increased by 117 mcf, ResCom demand increased by 69 mcf, and Industrial demand increased by 8 mcf d/d.
  • Canadian imports revising 27 mmcf higher to 1.71 bcf/d compared to the 7-day average of 1.9 bcf/d.
  • Operational utilization at the Chaplin compressor station on AGT showing 0.93 bcfd, down  to 83% operational capacity.
