NATGAS: Naftogaz Receives Additional Loan for Gas Purchases

Naftogaz and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a new revolving credit agreement worth €500 million to be used for gas purchases.
- According to ExPro estimates, this amount could cover almost 1.5 bcm of natural gas at current European prices.
- Naftogaz will purchase gas on competitive terms from more than 30 pre-qualified suppliers under contracts concluded in line with standards of the European Federation of Energy Traders.
- Naftogaz noted that this is the largest project the EBRD has ever signed in Ukraine and one of the largest in the bank’s history overall.
- Ukraine’s gas storage was 18.45% full on August 11, according to GIE data. It was 21.45% full the same time last year, reaching a peak of around 27% in October.
