President Donald Trump on Wednesday officially nominated Kevin Warsh to be the next chairman of the Federal Reserve and to serve a 14-year term as governor.
If confirmed by the Senate, Warsh, of Florida, would replace Fed Chairman Jerome Powell for a four-year term. Trump’s nomination was transmitted to the Senate on Wednesday, the White House said in a statement posted online. The transmittal came more than a month after Trump first publicly announced he would pick Warsh as the Fed chairman. (See MNI: Warsh Wants Fed Out Of Treasury's Business)
