UK GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.1% in October, following a fall of 0.1% in September and no growth in August, the Office for National Statistics said Friday.

Year-on-year, GDP rose by 1.1% in Ocotber compared to the same month in 2024. In the month to October 2025: Services fell by 0.3% and construction fell by 0.6% in October,  whereas production grew by 1.1%.

The data underlines the continued 'no growth' narrative underlying the UK economy, with the monthly figures showing zero or negative growth for 4 consecutive quarters. However, the data alone is unlikley to shift the votes of individual MPC members ahead of next week's rate decision, as the numbers are largely in line with forecasts.

“The economy contracted slightly in the latest three months, as production fell again and services growth stalled," ONS Director of Economic Statistics Liz McKeown said.
