MNI BRIEF: Eurogroup Chair Donohoe Steps Down

Ireland’s Paschal Donohoe has stepped down from his role as chairman of the Eurogroup to take up the role of World Bank managing director in Washington, the European Council said on Tuesday.

Cyprus Finance Minister Makis Keravnos will take over as acting Eurogroup head until a new chairman can be appointed.  Donohoe has already announced his resignation as finance minister. (See MNI INTERVIEW: Poland Says One-Year ETS2 Delay Not Enough)
