China’s upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan should prioritise the development of new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions, Wang Guosheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said during a plenary session held on Tuesday, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The session focused on shaping the framework for the country’s 2026–2030 economic and social development roadmap and was attended by Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, Xinhua said.
Zhang Baiqing, also a Standing Committee member, urged stronger support for Chinese enterprises expanding abroad, while Miao Wei proposed deeper integration between the digital and real economies.
China is likely to highlight the need to maintain manufacturing’s share of GDP in its upcoming 15th Five-year Plan for 2026-2030 though setting a numerical target, a high-level policy advisor told MNI. (See MNI INTERVIEW: Manufacturing Share Of GDP)
