China’s macro policies should be strengthened to ensure economic growth this year, and measures taken to promote both domestic and international circulation over the next five years in line with the goal of reaching moderately-developed-level per capita GDP by 2035, according to the communiqué of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. 

In the short term, macro policies should continue to provide support to enterprise, consumption and local government debt risks, it said.

The main objectives for economic and social development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period include improving high-quality development, enhancing self-reliance in science and technology, deepening reform and strengthening national security, the communique showed, noting increasing uncertainty.
