China's Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index rose by 0.2 points to 49.2 in November from October, remaining below the breakeven 50 mark for the eighth month, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Sunday.

Both the production and new orders sub-indices were up by 0.3 and 0.4 points to 50.0 and 49.2.

The non-manufacturing PMI registered 49.5, down 0.6 points from the previous month. The business activity sub-index for the service sector fell by 0.7 points to 49.5, driven by the fading holiday effect, with real estate and household services all below 50.
