China’s electric vehicle charge points reached 16.6 million by the end of July, up 53% y/y and an 0.5 million rise m/m, data from the National Energy Administration showed on Friday.

Of these, 4.2 million were public, up 38% y/y, and 12.4 million were private, up 58.8% y/y, the data showed.

China’s latest supply-side reforms are expected to have a more modest impact on producer prices compared to the sweeping industry capacity cuts of 2015, a leading commodity policy expert told MNI, highlighting that the more targeted approach aims to curb involuted competition in emerging industries.
