China’s President Xi has met with President António Costa of the European Council and President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission on Thursday, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, an announcement from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
President Xi underscored the importance for China and the EU, both constructive forces for multilateralism and openness, to strengthen communication, enhance trust and deepen cooperation, the ministry said.
"China-EU relations have come to another critical juncture in history. Over the past 50 years, China and the EU have achieved fruitful outcomes in exchanges and cooperation, delivering mutual success and worldwide benefits," Xi said.
