China’s senior trade negotiator Li Chenggang has travelled to Washington this week for talks with U.S. officials, Commerce Ministry spokesperson He Yongqian confirmed on Thursday.
Li’s visit follows his trip to Canada on August 24–27, where he co-chaired the China-Canada Joint Economic and Trade Committee, He added.
China remains willing to work with the U.S. to establish economic and trade consultation mechanisms and jointly safeguard bilateral economic relations, He continued.
