LNG: LNG Vessel Diverts From UK To Turkey

LNG vessel diverts away from UK to head to Turkey instead, according to ICIS analyst Alex Froley. 

• The Ribera del Duero Knutsen has diverted; it was due at Isle of Grain but will now go to Dortyol in southeast Turkey, Froley said.
• “We’ve seen a large number of cargoes switching course towards Greece and Turkey in recent weeks. This could be partly due to the end of Russian gas flows through Ukraine to Slovakia at the start of the year”, Froley said.
• “This has removed around 14 billion cubic metres of pipeline gas from southeast Europe. But it can be partly replaced by sending LNG into Greek and Turkish terminals, then pumping the gas north into southeast Europe via pipes through Bulgaria and Romania.”
