The LNG tanker GAIL Urja has switched course from Dahej, India to Gate, Netherlands according to ICIS ship-tracking.
- The shipment was diverted away from India earlier this week amid high inventories, as Gail opted to resell the shipment instead.
- Gail sold an LNG cargo on a DES basis for prompt delivery to Europe at a ~0.5/mmbtu discount to the TTF, Bloomberg sources said.
- Competition for global LNG supply could rise next week due to higher cooling demand amid warmer weather in Europe and Asia.
- The JKM - TTF July 25 spread has gradually risen from near parity in mid-April up to +$0.49/mmbtu today but below the June 25 contract levels seen last month, according to Bloomberg data.
