  • Some additional late greenback demand propels USDJPY to the best levels of the session in recent trade, rising to 146.75, and notably 220 pips off the earlier session lows following the China headlines. Initial firm resistance is not seen until 148.18, the Mar 20 low.
  • The dollar rally weighs further on the Australian dollar, as AUDUSD extends session declines to 5.05%, and is now just 10 pips shy of the psychological 0.6000 mark. Levels below worth noting are as follows:
    • 0.5931 - 1.764 proj of the Sep 30 - Nov 6 - 7 price swing
    • 0.5830 - 2.000 proj of the Sep 30 - Nov 6 - 7 price swing

  • Bloomberg report that "The Trump administration is considering a one-month delay for automakers from newly imposed tariffs on Mexico and Canada, according to people familiar with the matter, as a temporary reprieve following pleas from industry leaders."
  • Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has hinted in recent days that exceptions to the initial tariffs were under consideration. Earlier today, he stated that Trump was thinking about autos and USMCA-compliant categories for today's plan.
