Kazakhstan oil output rose 13.2% year on year to 75.7m tons in Jan-Sep. compared to 66.9m tons a year ago, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said.

• The energy minister reiterated the plan for output of 96.2m tons in 2025 and sees exports at 70.5m tons.
• Oil exports rose 14.9% year on year to 60.5m tons in Jan.-Sept.
• Tengiz output rose to 30.5m tons from 21.5m tons a year earlier and Karachaganak production rose to 9.2m tons from 8.9m tons. Kashagan output fell to 13.7m tons from 13.9m tons a year ago.
• Kazakhstan has struggled to comply with OPEC+ quotas so far this year following the Tengiz expansion. The latest OPEC oil report showed Kazakhstan output fell by 26kb/d to 1.84mb/d in September but still above the quota of 1.55mb/d for the month.

Aussie 3-yr futures are trading off recent lows. A resumption of gains from here would further narrow the gap with resistance at 96.730, the Sep 17 ‘24 high, leaving 96.860 as the next key level. Any continuation lower would instead strengthen a bearish threat. This would refocus attention on 95.760, the 14 Nov ‘24 low. Conversely, a reversal higher would open 96.860, the Apr 7 high.
