Italgas plans to invest €1bn in Greece’s energy transition as part of the group’s 2024-2030 Strategic Plan, it said.
- The programme will be executed by subsidiary Enaon and aims to expand the mechanisation in off-grid areas to replace polluting fuels like lignite and coal, to digitally upgrade the network with new “H2-ready” smart meters, to grow renewable gas production, especially biomethane and green hydrogen, to drive decarbonization and to adapt and repurpose the existing network to increase flexibility and support a sustainable energy system.
- The plan allocates €650mn for the construction of over 3,000km of new network.
