POWER: Ireland Awards 1.5TWh of Renewable Capacity RESS 5 Tender

The Irish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment announced it has provisionally awarded 1,5TWh of renewable capacity in the latest renewable auction (RESS 5), in line with the maximum target volume, it said. 

  • The government awarded 218.8MW of wind capacity and 860.4MW of solar PV capacity at a weighted average price of €98.81/MWh, slightly up from €96.85/MWh in the previous round.
  • The weighted average price for solar stood at €100.63/MWh and at €96.56/MWh for wind projects.

Riksbank minutes for the last rate decision shed some more light on the decision-making process:
