OIL: IOC Seeks Americas Crude in Q1 Amid Russian Supply Concern

IOC seeks as much as 24mbbl of crude from the Americas in Q1 2026 amid concern for Russian supply after the recent US sanctions on producers Rosneft and Lukoil, Bloomberg said.
- The Indian state-backed refiner is seeking grades from the US, Canada, Brazil and Latin America, according to a document.
- The tender seeks cargoes of both low-sulphur and high-sulphur crude oil grades with offers for the expression of interest due Friday.
- IOC will select around five suppliers to provide the barrels from the Americas.
- IOC hasn’t placed any Russian crude orders since Oct. 22 although has made no decision on whether to extend the pause, Bloomberg sources said.
- State-run refiners are considering whether they can take some discounted Russian oil cargoes by leaning on small non-sanctioned alternatives but are making preparations for the potential for a meaningful reduction in Russian supply.
