Iberdrola and Echelon Data Centres have finalised a joint venture to construct and operate large-scale data centres in Spain worth €2bn, it said.
- The transaction was first announced in July this year.
- Iberdrola’s CPD4Green unit will hold 20% of the new joint venture, while Echelon will own 80%.
- The first project will deliver 144MW of data processing capacity and will come online before 2030. The project will be connected to a 230MW power source that has already been secured.
- Iberdrola currently supplies above 11TWh of electricity to data centre companies globally.
