US: House Of Representatives Vote For Speaker Underway Shortly

Jan-03 17:03

The House of Representatives is shortly due to commence voting to elect a Speaker for the 119th Congress. Full coverage of the ballot and action on the floor can be followed on C-Span

  • Despite wavering support from a handful of hardline conservatives and a razor-thin two-vote majority, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) appears likely to secure re-election. Data from Polymarket shows that bettors are confident that Johnson is well positioned, with a 94% implied probability of winning re-election.
