EMISSIONS: EU Will Deduct Indian Carbon Price Under CBAM
The EU will deduct carbon costs paid under India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme under the EU CBAM, according to the EU Commission.
- In 2025, the price of one carbon credit in India’s Carbon Credit Trading Scheme is expected to be between ₹200-400 (€1.92-3.85/t), according to CostMos.
- Compared with the latest CBAM reference price of €75.76/t published by EEX on 12 Sept, the deduction would amount to 2.5%–5% of CBAM costs if applied today.
