EMISSIONS: EC Calls For Tax Reforms To Reduce Clean Investment Barriers

The 2025 Semester Spring Package released by the EC today noted that the Member States should support decarbonisation through tax reforms to reduce to decarbonisation investment barriers as it cited the importance of tax incentives toward clean transition.
- It also noted that Member States should support the creation of markets for net-zero infrastructure, including carbon capture and storage (CCS) and hydrogen.
- It also urged to speed up permitting processes on clean energy infrastructure.
