The newly-agreed ceasefire deal in Gaza faces its first notable test after Hamas announced that the remains of only four (out of 28) deceased hostages would be returned today. Defence Minister Israel Katz posts on X "The urgent mission to which we are all committed now is to ensure the return of all the abducted bodies home. Hamas's announcement about the expected return of 4 bodies today is a failure to meet commitments. Any delay or deliberate avoidance will be considered a gross violation of the agreement and will be responded to accordingly."

Aussie 3-yr futures are trading off recent lows. A resumption of gains from here would further narrow the gap with resistance at 96.730, the Sep 17 ‘24 high, leaving 96.860 as the next key level. Any continuation lower would instead strengthen a bearish threat. This would refocus attention on 95.760, the 14 Nov ‘24 low. Conversely, a reversal higher would open 96.860, the Apr 7 high.
