Market Summary:  The FTSE Malay KLCI remains unloved this week and is flat on the day and the week whilst MYR is flat for the day at 4.2140.  Bonds have stabilized post Monday's sell off, with the MSG 10-Yr at 3.44%

  • Johor has cemented its position as Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing data centre hub, with total capacity nearly doubling over the past year to 5.8GW as of Q2 2025, according to Knight Frank’s latest Asia-Pacific Data Centre Report.  (source Business Today)
  • Malaysia is encouraging the growth of digital assets, seeing them as an emerging pillar of the financial system, the Digital Minister said during the launch of a digital asset conference  on Thursday noting that there has been a significant push by most countries, including Malaysia, to develop digital platforms, and we will see a huge spike in transactions as we move ahead,” he said.  For Malaysia, this represents an opportunity to build a future-ready digital economy, aligned with our national digital policies. A rally on Friday GBPUSD signals the end of the recent corrective phase - Friday’s reversal pattern is a bullish engulfing candle. An extension higher would refocus attention on the short-term bull trigger at 1.3595, the Aug 14 high. Clearance of this level would signal scope for a climb towards 1.3636, the 76.4% retracement of the bear leg between Jul 1 and Aug 1. Key short-term support has been defined at 1.3391, the Aug 22 low.
