China’s April fuel oil imports rose 32.2% in April to 1.83m mt, according to OilChem citing GACC data.
- Fuel oil demand was boosted by rising use as a refinery feedstock, with CDU utilisation rates up 1.58 percentage points on the month to 60.09%.
- China’s top five sources for fuel oil were: Malaysia, Russia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Brazil, accounting for 1.614m mt.
- China’s fuel oil imports are seen at 1.85m mt in May, a 1.24% monthly rise.
- May fuel oil export volumes are seen hitting 1.8m mt due to an improvement in international demand.
