"*VANKE TO GET UP TO 3B YUAN LENDING FROM HOLDER SHENZHEN METRO" - BBG
China Vanke reported after close Friday that Shenzhen Metro Group (27% owner) intends to provide an additional loan of up to RMB3bn for a maximum term of 36 months. The proceeds will be used to repay June 2025 bond maturities. Ongoing support from Shenzhen Metro Group and some broader financial aid from the Chinese state is expected to be forthcoming. The next $ bond maturing is in 2027. We can see in terms of spreads in the $ 29's (refer chart), versus higher rated peer, Lonfgor (B1neg/BB-neg/BBneg), that the spread differential is still off the year-to-date tights (c. 160bp).

USDCAD has recovered from its recent lows. Despite the recovery, the trend condition remains bearish and short-term gains are considered corrective. A fresh cycle low on Tuesday reinforces the bearish theme. Potential is seen for a move towards 1.3744, a Fibonacci retracement. Note that moving average studies are in a bear mode position, highlighting a dominant downtrend. Key resistance is seen at 1.4041, the 50-day EMA.
