HONG KONG: Broad Based Recovery Developing

- Last night saw the release of key data for Hong Kong. Hong Kong registered GDP growth for the second quarter of +3.1% YoY, beating estimates.
- With the prior released June exports topping 11% for June, the GDP result was the fastest in two years, with market estimates for a +2.8% rise.
- Domestic consumption is showing signs of a rebound also with retail sales missing forecasts at +0.7%, yet delivered a second consecutive expansion for the first time since the beginning of 2024.
- Tourism has been on the improve and with the rise in volume of IPOs, the improvements to the outlook are starting to appear broad based.

US: Trump Posts Israel Has Agreed To Finalize Conditions For Ceasefire In Gaza

US President Trump has posted on Truth Social, stating his representatives held meetings with Israel officials today on Gaza. Trump states conditions are in place for a 60 day ceasefire, but that it up to Hamas to accept the deal, see the full post below.

Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War. I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
