Argentina’s state-run LNG importer, Enarsa, issued a tender on June 3 for eight LNG cargoes, each ranging from 2.1- 2.7 TBtu, for delivery to the Escobar terminal, Platts said.
- Deliveries are scheduled between July 12-Aug. 5 and the tender closes June 10.
- This is likely Enarsa’s final tender for the Southern Hemisphere winter unless colder-than-average August temperatures are forecast.
- Earlier in 2024, Enarsa awarded two tenders to BP for a total of 14 cargoes at average prices of $13.666/MMBtu and $11.477/MMBtu.
- Three of these have already arrived, with additional shipments expected in early June. Some cargoes originally scheduled for May were postponed due to reduced demand caused by warmer weather, Platts added.
- One spot cargo from Petrobras was also imported in May amid unexpected demand.
