At their February outlook downgrade, Moody’s noted that Akzo Nobel was evaluating strategic options for Akzo Nobel India (ANI) with a market cap (including the to-be-carved-out powder coatings business) of around €1.7bn. The powder coatings business to Akzo Nobel NV was moved to the parent earlier in the year. Moody’s expected proceeds from the ANI sale to be used to delever.
