{GB}{2Q}Port of Aberdeen has launched Scotland’s largest maritime decarbonisation project, aiming to cut up to 60k tonnes of CO2e over 20 years, it said.
By enabling vessels to plug into the port’s renewable electricity supply instead of using fossil fuel-powered auxiliary engines.
This would remove the emissions equivalent of around 2,140 cars from the road annually.
The port aims to become the UK’s first port to achieve net zero by 2040.
