(MNI) London – All timings are subject to change.
Monday 26 January:
- EU-US: Amid heightened transatlantic tensions that nearly reached a boiling point last week over the future of Greenland, the European Parliament’s international trade committee meets at 09:00ET/14:00GMT/15:00CET. MEPs are set to discuss whether the prospective trade deal, announced last year at Gleneagles in Scotland, should be unfrozen. After President Donald Trump withdrew the threat of additional tariffs on eight European NATO members, EU leaders at last week’s emergency Council meeting indicated they would be in favour of getting the deal back on track, as did Parliament President Roberta Metsola. However, division between political groups in the European Parliament could mean the deal remains in the deep freeze.
